Don’t miss the 45th Arizona Knife Show Jan 11th & 12th

45th ARIZONA KNIFE SHOW JANUARY 11 & 12

Phoenix, AZ – The Arizona Knife Collectors Association is pleased to announce they will hold the annual Arizona Knife Show on January 11th and 12th, 2014 at the El Zaribah Shriner’s Auditorium, 552 N. 40th Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

The Arizona Knife Show is open to the public on Saturday, January 11th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Sunday, January 12th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Admission is $5.00 and parking is free.  Discount coupons for $1 off admission are available from club members.  Kids under 16 are free.

This trade show features custom knife makers, knife dealers and knife collectors exhibiting their products to the public.  Hand-made knives crafted by talented custom knife makers from across the US will be for sale.  Factory-made knives from all the best manufacturers will be offered.  In addition, accessories for knives, like sharpening stones and sheaths, as well as supplies for knife makers, like steel and handle materials, will be for sale.  Sharpening services will be available

Hand-made knives can be simple utility tools in the $100 to $200 piece range, but the state-of-the-art in custom knife making can result in elaborate pieces with hand-forged damascus pattern-welded blades and exotic materials like ivory or pearl, with carving or other embellishments, and prices can reach in excess of $10,000.  This show will have it all and everything in between.

In addition, young and old alike will be fascinated to see demonstrations of knife making techniques as well as knife use to be held periodically during the show.  Forging demonstrations will show the tools and techniques needed to fashion knife blades from bars of steel using heat and a hammer and anvil.  Cutting demonstrations will help the viewers understand the effect of differences in knife design.

Each day of the show, raffles will be held offering great prizes of knives and knife related items.  A very special damascus-bladed knife crafted by a collaboration of several of our skilled members will be raffled, as well.

The Arizona Knife Collectors Association is a non-profit club whose members have an interest in knives and other edged tools.  Our mission is to act as a business league; promote education/public awareness in use, handling and safety of edged implements; to assist in development of information regarding every aspect of knives; and to sponsor trade shows.AKCA logo
