New Sitcom Supports Local Comedy

“Serious About Comedy” is a sitcom about two best friends trying to break into the stand-up comedy scene. The pilot episode “Misery Loves Comedy” debuted in September on Trends Television, a narrowcast network on college campuses including Arizona State University, University of Arizona, and more. Director Jordan Moore and Producer Michael Rosin, along with crew of young, ambitious film students, put their blood, sweat and tears into this project, and received help from industry professionals such as Mike Hall from AZ Grip who provided top-of the-line lighting and grip equipment. Mike’s credits include “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Raising Arizona“. Additionally, the show’s Executive Producer, James Rosin, lent his knowledge and experience. James, a graduate of USC Marshall School of Business/Cinema Arts, and worked on popular shows including “Happy Days” and “M.A.S.H.

Making a Difference
Not only is “Serious About Comedy” fun to watch, it also serves to support the stand-up comedy scene. The series features local comedy venues as well as prominent comedians such as Jill Bryan, Jonathan Gregory, Anthony Desamito, and Jessie Johnson. Also, the official website will be a place for comedians to share content, news about upcoming shows and exchange ideas.
